Repair, Replacement or Refund Policy

At Shingleback Off Road we work hard to provide customers with the highest quality in both the workmanship of our products and in our customer service. We want to ensure that you are satisfied with your Shingleback Off Road purchase.

Along with our 10 year guarantee, Shingleback Off Road offers customers a Consumer Guarantee for Repair, Replacement or Refund in accordance with the requirements of the Australian Consumer Law.

Customers are required to notify Shingleback Off Road of any problems with products within 30 days of receiving the order.

Repair or Replace

Shingleback Off Road will offer to repair or replace:

  • the problem with the product can be repaired either by Shingleback Off Road or a business local to the customer. In the instance of repairs completed by another business Shingleback Off Road will cover the agreed costs associated with rectifying the problem. Please contact us before arranging any repairs to our products.
  • the product will be replaced if it is substantially unfit for its normal purpose and cannot be made fit within a reasonable time. All reasonable costs associated with returning the product to Shingleback Off Road will be covered by Shingleback Off Road.

Refund

Shingleback Off Road will offer a refund when:

  • the product is significantly different from the description, sample or demonstration model shown on our website and social media platforms.
  • the product or service supplied is substantially unfit for its normal purpose and cannot be made fit within a reasonable time. (Note: proof of purchase is required for all repair, replacement or refund claims. Proof of purchase includes a copy of your email receipt, bank or credit card statement.
)

Exceptions to Consumer Guarantees

Consumer guarantees do not apply if you:

  • got what you asked for but simply changed your mind, found it cheaper somewhere else, decided you did not like the purchase or had no use for it.
  • misused a product in any way that caused the problem.
  • knew of or were made aware of the faults before you bought the product (for example purchase of a product sold as “seconds”).
  • asked for a service to be done in a certain way against the advice of the business or were unclear about what you wanted.

10 Year Guarantee

We love our work!

We’re so confident in the workmanship of our Shingleback Racks that we’re prepared to offer customers a 10 Year Guarantee.

The workmanship guarantee covers:

  • Build quality
  • Welding

If you experience an issue with your rack, please contact us directly and we will work with you to find a solution.

Excluded from guarantee:

  • Damage from misuse of the product, or use against the advice of Shingleback Off Road
  • Damage from accidents
  • Bungee cord loops and buttons (these will last a long time but they have a limited lifespan, particularly with prolonged exposure to UV rays)
  • Powdercoating (while it is an industrial scratch resistant powdercoat we can’t guarantee against it being worn through)
  • Rust
  • Stickers (they have a limited lifespan, but just let us know if they need replacing and we will send you some more)
 

Shingleback Bike Rack Disclaimer – Important Notice – Read before Purchase and Use

1. What is your intended use? The Shingleback bike rack (rack) and Swing Arm products have been designed to be mounted directly to a 50mm square tow hitch on the rear of a vehicle that is not being towed, such as a car or 4WD (intended use).

Mounting the rack or swing arm:

– to any vehicle that is being towed, including but not limited to caravans, campers and trailers: or

– by using an adaptor to connect to a 50mm square tow hitch

are not recommended unless fabrication works are completed by a qualified fabricator.

Additionally, using the rack or swing arm in a way that is not consistent with the intended use is done strictly at your own risk and Shingleback will not be liable for any claims or damages whatsoever resulting from any use that differs from the intended use.

2. Is your vehicle suitable for your rack? Shingleback assumes no responsibility for the suitability of your vehicle to accommodate a rack. While our bike rack size guide provides an indication in relation to the type of vehicle required to accommodate certain sized racks, the guide is for general purposes only. The guide should not be solely relied upon to determine whether your vehicle is suitable and provides no express or implied guarantee.  To the extent permitted by law, Shingleback does not accept any liability for any loss or damage suffered by relying on any information provided by Shingleback whether caused by the negligence of Shingleback or otherwise.  Any reliance you place on such information is therefore strictly at your own risk. 

Shingleback recommends that you make enquiries with your vehicle manufacturer to determine the suitability of your vehicle to accommodate the rack and swing arm products.  Additionally, Shingleback recommends that you position your rack as close to the vehicle as possible to avoid creating extra stress on your vehicle’s chassis.
